Tributes have been flowing into the Czech Republic following the death of Vaclav Havel, the icon of the Velvet Revolution and the country's first president. Thousands of people across the country have been gathering at places of significance to pay their respects since the news broke on Sunday.
The Czech Republic will hold three days of national mourning ahead of the state funeral in St Vitus Cathedral in Prague this Friday.
“Vaclav Havel’s personality, reputation and work were crucial in helping Czechoslovakia join the community of free and democratic nations,“ said Czech President Vaclav Klaus.
