Although pocket-sized, a new book about Poland tells the country's history in its entirety, according to its author.

The “Pocket History of Poland” aims to provide foreigners with a quick guide to the country by native young Pole Dariusz Sirko, who tells its history in a casual manner. He claims to have been able to give historical highlights going back as far as the first Slavic settlements and onwards through to the present day, all this embracing a mere 150 pages of the pocket-book format. Not aspiring to be a historian or an academician, Sirko believes his light-hearted book can make a perfect in-flight or lunch break entertainment that should attract even the most reluctant readers. I was intrigued enough to try and find out more.
