2015 highlights: Chopin Competition
Organisers of the event have received a record number of applications – 452 from 45 countries.
Speaking to reporter Michał Kubicki, music critic Aleksander Laskowski says that even though in general competitions are losing in importance, “the Chopin Competition is still recognised for its integrity and has produced many brilliant pianists”.
This year’s international jury includes such household names as the event’s past winners Martha Argerich, Dang Thai Son and Garrick Ohlsson.
