In this week's programme covering social issues in Poland, we take a look at the revival of neopagan spirituality.

The first nationwide Slavic Neopagan Convention has recently been held in central Poland, marking another step in the steady growth and integration of modern-day pagan circles.

Among many followers, the interest in pre-Christian roots was first sparked in recoil against the dominance of the Catholic faith in the country.

“We give [the newcomers] the opportunity to learn a forgotten part of our history and culture," says Gniewko, member of the Polish Native Church, a Slavic neopagan religious society based in Warsaw.
