The Polish goal machine found the back of the net in the 36th and 80th minutes of the game, adding to his tally as the highest-scoring foreign player in the German club's history.

Lewandowski’s Bayern will face off against RB Leipzig in the German Cup final in Berlin on May 25.

The 30-year-old, who also captains Poland’s national squad, last month became the highest-scoring foreign player of all time in Germany’s Bundesliga top-flight football league.

Meanwhile, another prolific Polish striker Krzysztof Piątek on Wednesday saw his AC Milan side crash out of the Italian Cup following a 0-1 loss to Lazio.

Lewandowski and Piątek earlier this month moved up to a joint No. 3 in a ranking of the top scorers in Europe's biggest football leagues this season.
