Janowicz beat France’s Kenny De Schepper 6:1, 7:6 (7:2) in his second match of the tournament in northwest Poland.
The Pole, who has fallen in rankings as he struggled with injury, shone with his services, returns and dropshots, winning the first set in 25 minutes.
"The conditions for the match were the worst possible. It was cold and with a strong wind,” Janowicz said after the match.
The Pole will take on Germany’s Florian Mayer on Friday, playing for a place in the semi-final.
