Polish priest gets high Vatican appointment

Polish priest Krzysztof Marcjanowicz has been named Papal Master of Ceremonies in the Vatican.

He joins six other priests, five Italians and one from Slovakia, who are responsible for organising and conducting liturgies and ceremonies performed by Pope Francis.
The group is led by Monsignor Guido Marini, who has served as Master of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations since 2007.
Born in 1977 in Kraków, southern Poland, Marcjanowicz was ordained a priest in 2002. In 2010, he obtained a doctorate from the Papal Liturgical Institute in Rome.
Since 2011 he has been working for the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelisation. He is also a lecturer at the John Paul II Papal University in Kraków.
