During the lecture in the German capital, Jacek Czaputowicz was expected to speak about ways of ensuring “a strong, democratic and efficient Union,” according to the foreign ministry in Warsaw.

The speech came as part of a series of lectures delivered by prominent European politicians at Berlin’s Humboldt University, the Polish foreign ministry said.

It added that the series has enjoyed wide public attention since it was started in 2000 by Germany's then-Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer.

In 2006, the late Polish President Lech Kaczyński spoke at Berlin’s Humboldt University, the Polish foreign ministry said on its website.
