Russian spy group busted in Czech Republic: report

A group of Russian spies that operated under the cover of IT firms and staged hacker attacks has been busted in the Czech Republic, a Polish news agency has reported, citing a Czech magazine.

The group operated under the guise of two computer companies in Prague and included Russian agents with Czech citizenship, Poland’s PAP news agency reported, citing Czech weekly magazine Respekt.
The group used the companies' computers to carry out hacker attacks against targets inside the country and abroad, PAP cited Respekt as reporting.
The computers were allegedly delivered in vehicles with Russian diplomatic plates.
The writer of the Respekt story, investigative journalist Ondřej Kundra, has been dealing with the subject of Russian security services for years, PAP reported.
The news agency quoted him as claiming that the Czech cell was part of a wider international network of Russian spies.
