Republican Donald Trump has been elected the 45th president of the United States.

Trump, who pledged to be a president "for all Americans”, addressed supporters at a victory party in New York, asking that the nation to come together and vowing to "represent every citizen of our land."
The Democratic candidate in the US presidential election, Hillary Clinton, called Trump to concede defeat, CNN reported.
